Figure 1 shows the first detection of an antiproton radiation belt around the Earth. A trapped antiproton spectrum was measured by PAMELA in the South Atlantic Anomaly (SAA) region in the energy range from 60 MeV up to 750 MeV. The data show an excess of an antiproton magnetospheric flux over the cosmic ray antiproton flux by three orders of magnitude at the corresponding solar minimum, thus constituting the most abundant antimatter source near the Earth.
